Cha Bar was created in Kolkata in the year 2000 backed by the experience of Apeejay Surrendra group in tea plantation. It first launched as a part of Oxford Bookstore and then it started expanding by launching more outlets in India with the increase of consumers. The Cha bar offers around 150 varieties of tea including the range of Nilgiri, Darjeeling and Sikkim. The teas used here are considered to be single estate tea from their own Upper Assam plantations. Variety called ‘Cutting Cha‘ and ‘Chai Hindustani’ were reinvented at Cha Bar and new varieties including Vervain Blue, Verbena Tea and Katakali were included in the year 2007.
